INFRASTRUCTURE

The S.M.B.T.A.V & S.N Degree College campus spreads over acres in a beautiful and serene atmosphere ideally suited for technical education. The infrastructure and facilities available on campus are amongst the very best. It is a wholly self-contained campus comprising of everything that students on campus would ever require. Procedures and policies for maintaining and utilizing physical, academic and support facilities

Library:

The library is open for staff and students from 9.30 AM to 5.30 P M on every working day. Books are issued to students from 9.30 AM to 2.00 PM everyday. The text books in the library are categorized as general and reference. General books are issued to students for a period of 15 days. They can use the reference books only in the library. To make important topics in reference books photocopied, there is reprographic facility in the library. There are six computers with internet facility and one printer in the library earmarked for the use of students and download any material using e-resources.

As and when the books in the library are increased new racks are purchased to accommodate the books. The books which come apart are do geared are attended to and get bound to prolong their use.

Information related to general knowledge, opportunities and notifications towards admission into higher education, employment opportunities are displayed on the notice board from time to time in the library. Syllabus for all subjects and model question papers are also maintained in the library for the use of students and staff.

Whenever university changes syllabi, the library invites requirement of new books relevant to new syllabus and these books are purchased through administrative office. In case the number of copies of a particular book is not sufficient, then the books are issued on the basis of rotation. But in case of books having heavy demand, the number of books in the library are increased by purchase.

Seminar hall:


The seminar hall is utilized by all the departments in turn by pre arrangement using log book. If there areany repairs, the maintenance committee of the college will look after them and get repaired.

ICT class rooms:


There are two ICT classrooms in the college which are also utilized by the teachers in turn. Seminar hall and computer laboratory are also equipped with ICT facilities. These are also used as ICT class rooms on demand. The ICT class rooms are utilized by all the departments in turm by pre arrangement. If there are repairs they are sorted out by maintenance committee of the college.

Class rooms:


There are 13 class rooms and these are as per the dimension of regulating authority. All these13 rooms are accommodating all the admitted students. An asbestos roofed shed which contained three classrooms was demolished and in its place a single storied RCC building was constructed in the year 2014-15 which contains six classrooms. A Seminar hall was constructed in the year 2017. Furniture in the class rooms like benches, desks, chairs, tables, writing boards etc., demand repairs they are attended to during summer vacation. Electrical appliances are monitored from time to time by maintenance committee.

Laboratories:


Department of Chemistry has two labs, Physics has one lab and one dark room, department of Botany, Zoology, Computer Science and Geography have one lab each. All the labs are spacious, well equipped as per the university norms and there is no congestion felt by students. Regarding the labs the condemned equipment is replaced by new equipment and that need repairs are attended to and put back to use. It has been the practice for the last several years that every department submits the breakage list to the college office. The college office collects cost of the broken items from the students and the same is spent
for purchasing a new one in place of broken item. Whenever syllabus is changed new instruments are purchased by the college and repairs of the instruments and yearly maintenance is monitored by the maintenance committee. If the number of instruments to
conduct a particular experiment is less than number of the students in a batch, the problem is over come by allotting different experiments to engage all the students in a batch.

Gymnasium :


The college has well equipped Gym located in the premises of play ground which includes 12 station gym,1 station gym, weight lifting set etc., It is kept open for the students from 3.00P.M. to 6.00 P.M. Repairs of instruments in the gym are monitored by maintenance committee of the college.

Drinking water:


There is RO drinking water facility in the college with three water coolers placed at different places. RO water supply is monitored by a supervisor. Repairs and maintenance is monitored by maintenance committee.

Toilets:


There are six toilets for girls along with waiting hall. There are four toilets for boys and three toilets for staff. There is a scavenger in the college who regularly cleans the toilets with disinfectants and maintains the
hygiene.
